The 2014 Tulane Climate Action Plan, adopted in 2015, sets three goals for emissions reductions: reduce GHG emissions by 15% from a 2007 emissions baseline by 2020; 30% reduction by 2025; and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Tulane University’s Office of Sustainability stopped reporting Scope 3 emissions in 2017. However, the implications of emissions beyond Scopes 1 and 2 are significant to addressing climate change and to mitigating the university’s climate impact. The team is committed to developing reliable and repeatable practices for tracking, reducing, and reporting Scope 3 emissions in the future.

Our current Climate Action Plan does not include goals for Purchased Electricity and Stationary Fuels. At the time of writing, these have been estimated.
